Welcome to my 4th grade homeroom! My name is Beth Brickner and this is my fifth year as a fourth grade homeroom teacher at Hatton Elementary. Although fairly new to Colbert County Schools and Hatton Elementary, I am not new to the education field. I have taught 21 years in both Ohio and Georgia prior to moving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama in November of 2013 and taught with Lawrence County Public Schools in the 2015-2016 school year. I have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood from Terra Community College, a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Brenau University, and an Education Specialist degree in Elementary Education from UNA.
I have been married to my best friend and husband, Seth, for 24 great years. We have three wonderful children. Our oldest son Jaret is 22, our middle son Derek is 20, and our youngest daughter Emmersyn is 7. Both of our sons are also United States Marines. We also have two fur babies. Bellamy and Brystol are both Great Danes. We are active participants in our church and enjoy spending quality family time together.
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." William A. Ward
This quote is a part of my teaching philosophy. I strive to be a great teacher that inspires my students to want to learn and to strive to maximize their highest learning potential. I look forward to working with all of the 4th graders this year and becoming a positive influence on their educational journey.
