My name is Brittany Leathers and I am very excited about being at New Bethel Elementary. I am married and have two daughters. My husband Taylor is the head football coach at Colbert Heights High School, my daughter Annabelle (7) is a second grader at New Bethel Elementary and my youngest daughter, Hattie Beth (4) is in Pre-K at New Bethel. I also have a dog named Gretta.
I love spending time with my family and friends and of course cheering on the Wildcats and the Crimson Tide! My hobbies include shopping, decorating my home, teaching, and trying to be the best mommy, wife, and teacher I can possibly be! The Lord has surely blessed me and my family!
I graduated from Winfield High School in 2003 and attended Bevill State Community College for the next two years earning an Associates of Arts Degree. I then transferred to the University of North Alabama where I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and then furthered my education at the University of North Alabama and received my Masters degree in Elementary Education.
I first started my teaching career at Harlan Elementary in Florence. I taught Kindergarten at Harlan for eight years then changed to the position of being an Instructional Coach at Harlan for one year. My family moved to Tuscumbia and this is now my 2nd year as a 1st grade teacher at New Bethel. I am starting my 11th year of teaching.
